Kalimantan has been identified by the Indonesian government as one of six economic corridors in the country, based on its potential and inherent advantages. Balikpapan, one of the coastal growth centers of East Kalimantan, is a preferred location for industrial development due to its better infrastructure and port facilities.

 

The Kawasan Industri Kariangau (“KIK”) zone is located in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Since the early 2000s, the KIK zone has been designated as an integrated industrial zone in Balikpapan for heavy industry, medium industry and warehousing, which may accommodate industries such as coal, oil ad gas, commodities, aquaculture and other business sectors.
